After the failure of the vote, Uniswap will not distribute a second airdrop
IN BRIEF
- The Uniswap community was to vote on the distribution of a second UNI 5 million airdrop.
- The proposal did not reach a sufficient number of votes in favour to be validated.
The Uniswap community has voted in recent days on the distribution of 5 million UNIs to users who have interacted with the platform via a third party service.
Second UNI airdrop?
If the proposal was adopted then it would result in the distribution of 400 UNI tokens to 12,619 addresses. A total of 5.05 million UNI tokens were to be allocated to users of MyEtherWallet, Argent, Dharma, DeFi Saver, Nuo, Eidoo, Opyn, Furucombo, Monolith and Rebalance.
The proposal was created by Dharma, the loan and savings protocol which claims that its users felt „left out“ by the initial distribution at the end of September.
As a reminder, users eligible for the UNI airdrop in September claimed 123 million UNI tokens, a value of about $600 million at the time of the distribution.
The vote ended this morning 31 October at 9 a.m. and did not reach a sufficient number of votes to be validated.
The number of votes in favour of a new airdrop reached 37.5 million and 1.28 million votes against. A total of 40 million votes in favour had to be reached for the proposal to be adopted.
